About Me
My name is Bridget and I developed travelbridge while I was a traveler with no home of my own. During this time, I stayed in other people’s homes and made myself useful. When I started getting invited back and even got referrals, it dawned on me that I had started a business.
Every situation was different. Sometimes I took care of people in their homes while they were getting over an illness. Other times, I would stay and take care of their pets and property while they were away. I filled in the gaps doing what ever was needed so I could have a place to live.
Now I am a home owner and I want to support people, pets and projects on my property. So far every guest has had different needs. I’ve had guests needing a place to stay while shopping for a new home. Guests who were traveling with pets. Guests recovering from various illnesses, injuries and even addictions. I’ve also taken care of people’s dogs, cats, chickens, cows and horses.
I live on a small acreage in the Ottawa Valley. The property has 3 acres of pasture, 4 acres of forest and about 3 acres where the buildings, lawn and driveway are situated. There is a house, barn and a couple of medium sized sheds on the property. The barn has electricity but the sheds do not.
There are lots of opportunities to be creative and I need help (money and labour) transforming this acreage into the perfect rest spot. Therefore I am unable to provide free services. However, I will take care of those who are willing and able to engage in mutually beneficial agreements with a great deal of joy.
