House Sitting
I will take care of your house, yard and pets while you are away. When you come home it will be clean and the fridge will be stocked with all the things you need. There may be other jobs you would like done while you are away. Perhaps you need a new coat of paint in the living room? Feel free to state your needs and I will do my best to fulfill them.
Home and Garden Care
I am moderately skilled and able to assist in various home renovation jobs and I'm willing to do labour within my physical capabilities. As well I am able to research best practices and help with energy efficient solutions. Budget is key when making choices.
I'm not an expert gardener, but I'm fairly adequate at maintaining flower and vegetable gardens, pruning and lawn care. I've composted using a variety of methods including being the main service provider for a commercial-sized vermi-composter. I have also had some experience maintaining a hot tub and swimming pool. I will not use any garden chemicals and I try to keep the use of tub and pool chemicals to a minimum.
Pet and Farm Animal Care
I love animals and natural spaces. I have friends that live on a subsistence farm and heat with wood. I'm a natural early riser and love to stoke the fire and feed the chickens in the morning while they sleep in. On a very small scale I have helped take care of horses and cows. I've even milked a cow albeit the amount I got out of her was enough for a large pot of tea, but I was tickled to have that experience.
